Study aim: "Specifically, we aimed to (i) determine the impact of L. hoffmeisteri for the fate of sediment-associated TCS in the microcosm, and (ii) get a better understanding of the direct and indirect toxic effects of sediment-associated TCS on the biological community of a subtropical aquatic environment. To do this, we quantified the fate of sediment-associated TCS in indoor benthic microcosms with and without the presence of introduced organisms, and examined the effects of sediment-associated TCS on algae, Daphnia, snails, midges and sediment-dwelling worms."
