Study aim: "The main objectives of the present study were to: (1) determine the extent of OCPs contamination, (2) determine factors that influence the accumulation of OCPs in sediment-dwelling animals, (3) determine biota-sediment accumulation factors (BSAFs) in order to assess the bio-availabilities of these compounds in the river and (4) carry out risk assessment related to the consumption of the biota in order to identify potential health risks."
